- Discussion is had about how long would it take to go around the whirlpool, but Soliana takes some arcane measurements and interrupts the discussion to announce they are here. The whirlpool (or the rock underneath it) is what they are here to investigate.
- They make plans to swim to the bottom with an Alter Self spell and a Wild Shape to cover the two who don't have underwater breathing.
BATTLE WITH ICY CUTTLEFISH
- CF1 spits some kind of projectile at Caleb, but that just poofs ineffectively against then it shoots an ice beam at him hitting for 16 cold dmg. (Crit cancelled by Silvery Barbs)
- Zemma Rages, swims up to CF1, and claws it for 7 slashing dmg then again for 10 slashing dmg then she misses.
- Caleb throws a psychic blade at CF1 for 22 psychic dmg then again for 8 psychic dmg.
- CF2 spits something at Niniel that dissipates against her armor, then shoots her with a cold beam for 13 (6) cold dmg.
- CF3 spits something at Zemma that also dissipates against her ineffectually, then shoots her for 8 cold dmg.
- Niniel casts Sickening Radiance on CF2 and CF3 for 27 radiance dmg on CF3 only. That one is also Exhausted (1) and glowing. Then she summons her Tentacle next to Zemma but it misses whacking CF1.
- CF4 spits something at Soliana and she starts to glow then it shoots her easily with an icy beam for 15 cold dmg.
- CF5 shoots Soliana for 21 cold dmg.
- Soliana drinks her prepared Healing Elixir for 11 HP, then she Polymorphs herself into a Giant Shark and swims up to CF4.
- Poetry-Shark swims up to CF1 and bites it for 3 piercing dmg.
- CF1 wraps its tentacles around Zemma for 5 (2) piercing dmg as it bites her.
- Zemma claws CF1 for 11 slashing dmg, then again for 7 slashing dmg, then one last time for 8 slashing dmg.
- Caleb turns and throws a psychic knife at CF4 for 50 psychic dmg and the 30' long Soliana-Shark is not longer glowing. Then he throws a second one nicking it for 5 psychic dmg.
- CF2 saves against Sickening Radiance and swims outside of the noxious bubble of energy. Then it spits a projectile at Poetry that does nothing. Then it shoots her for 10 cold dmg.
- CF3 saves against Sickening Radiance and swims outside the noxious bubble of energy. Then it spits a projectile at Niniel who avoids it. Then it shoots her with an ice beam for 23 (11) cold dmg.
- Niniel casts Eldritch Blast at CF1 missing twice. Then she smacks it with her Tentacle for 7 (3) cold dmg and it can now move 10' less.
- CF4 pushes away from Soliana-Shark (she bites some tentacles on the way out for 16 piercing dmg) then it misses with a cold beam and then hits her for 9 cold dmg.
- CF5 misses with its Projectile of Not-Exactly Fairy Fire, then shoots Soliana-Shark for another 9 cold dmg.
- Soliana-Shark swims after CF4 and bites it in half and there's an explosion of lightning energy and Soliana-Shark takes 13 lightning dmg. The Giant Shark turns to look at CF5 who also hurt it on its last turn.
- Poetry-Shark bites CF1 and it explodes into a lightning ball dealing 7 dmg to Zemma and 3 to Poetry-Shark.
- Zemma swims to CF3 and claws it for 7 slashing dmg then again for 7 slashing dmg and lastly for 16 slashing dmg.
- Caleb throws a psychic knife at CF3 for 24 psychic dmg then he misses with his bonus action attack.
- CF2 spits Zemma and causes her to glow then misses with the ice beam.
- CF3 hits Zemma twice for 19 cold dmg.
- Niniel summons a Shadow Spawn Frilled Shark next to CF2 then her Tentacle moves next to CF3 and smacks it for 6 (3) cold dmg. It explodes into a puff of lightning for 9 (5) lightning dmg. The Summon bites CF2 for 17 (8) cold dmg.
- CF5 shoots Zemma with two ice beams for 23 cold dmg.
- Soliana-Shark swims to CF5 and bites it for 25 piercing dmg
- Poetry-Shark swims to CF5 and bites it for 7 piercing dmg.
- Zemma swims to CF2 and claws it for 9 slashing then misses then claws it for 8 slashing. Zemma is no longer glowing.
- Caleb turns and throws a psychic knife at CF5 for 32 psychic dmg then misses on the bonus attack.
- CF2 bites Zemma for 12 (6) piercing dmg.
- Niniel Eldritch Blasts CF2 for 8 force dmg. Tentacle smacks CF2 for 1 cold dmg. Summoned Shark bites CF2 for 36 (18) cold dmg.
- CF5 bites Soliana-Shark for 10 piercing dmg.
- Soliana-Sharks bites it back for 22 piercing dmg and CF5 pops into a ball of lightning energy dealing 11 to Soliana and 23 to Poetry who is now a helf-elf again. Soliana-Shark swims over to the last CF left.
- Poetry casts Water Breathing on herself.
- Zemma Disengages and swims away from CF2.
- Caleb throws a psychic knife at CF2 for 24 psychic dmg then misses with the second knife.
- CF2 bites Soliana-Shark for 12 piercing dmg
- Niniel Eldritch Blasts CF2 for 6 force dmg and CF2 explodes into a puff of lightning energy for 9 lightning dmg to Soliana and summoned sharks. Soliana-Sharks immediately turns with blood lust in her eyes to look at Niniel, so the summoned shark bites her for 18 cold dmg.
- Soliana bites the summoned shark for 29 piercing dmg.
- Poetry attempts to soothe the Giant Soliana-Shark and succeeds with a good Animal Handling Check.
END BATTLE
- Soliana-Shark nudges the smaller, summoned shark in apology for the bite, then turns and starts swimming towards the sparking boulder.
- Everyone follows.
- There is the familiar shifting of the world, a short period of blackness, and then they are in the middle of the tundra with a blowing snowstorm with a 30' shark on the ground drowning without water.
- Soliana re-appears as a little wet slip of a thing, and everyone immediate starts drying off and suiting up with the winter gear from the Bag of Holding.
- 2,000 XP ea for 29,700 XP total ea.
