Protect the Boats - August 1, 2025

 - KS Royals (Baseball? What?)

 

-  22 Redfall 1374

- As they are waiting for the coach to arrive the next morning, Soliana notices the tree that grew out of the stable from their most recent Arcane Leap might be even bigger than it was when they first got back.

- Soliana peels off a long scale- or feather-like and tucks it into an empty vial to offer to Sir Foxglove.

- Niniel tucks a leaf into her Patron Pouch.

- The coach arrives and everyone loads into the carriage.

- While they are riding, Soliana finds a section in Grim that wasn't there before. She asks Grim what it is, and he says a journal. There is one entry:

"8 Rainmoot 1297 (about 77 years ago)

Thadius Quellmoor is an insufferably pompous imbecile. I had the misfortune of listening to him lecture on his theory of ley line magical accumulation. I can't believe he really thinks that a wizard would be able to tap into ley lines an use their magical energy to enhance his spells. I can think of easier and more efficient ways of killing myself! I may as well jump into a volcano to enhance my fire magic!

 His methods for tracking ley lines are equally preposterous! Ley line maps must be confirmed by field research! And he thinks they can move?! I pity his students."

- They discuss the possibilities for the four or so hours it takes to get back to Arrandale.

- They report in to Headmistress Sharai about the newest leap and also about the problem with the altar to Morgion and the aberrations in the woods.

- Sharai tells Soliana she will put her into contact with a former student (Tinalia) who settled in Mistverge who has had dealings with some powerful clerics.

- She is then a bit salty about being asked to Teleport the Keepers to Port Carling again, but she does it.

- They arrive on the beach near Port Carling. Niniel immediately approaches the water and puts her feet in. The breeze off the ocean is quite cold and there is a thick fog.

- While everyone is giving her some time to reconnect with the ocean, splashing crunching noises start coming in from up the beach.

- Niniel casts Gust of Wind in that direction and starts running that direction followed by everyone else.

- Soliana casts her free casting of Mage Armor as they are running. 

- The Keepers arrive at a small dock for a couple of small fishing boats that has four creatures attacking the boats. The creatures look like a crocodile that has had its forelegs and upper torso replaced with that of a dolphin. Crocodolphins if you will.

- Niniel asks them what's going on and why are they attacking the boats, and the creatures pause to look at her, but then get right back to attacking.

- She re-aims her Gust of Wind at one of the creatures.

BOAT (PROTECTION) BATTLE

- Poetry steps forward onto the dock an summons Ember in the middle of a circle of three of the Crocodolphins (C1, C2, and C4). They all take 4 fire dmg. Ember then throws a Flame Seed on C1 for another 9 fire dmg. Ember then floats up above Niniel's Gust of Wind that is aimed at C4 so that she doesn't get pushed into the ocean.

- C1 jumps off the boat, swims under the dock and comes up in front of Niniel. He tail swipes her for 23 bludgeoning dmg and she is knocked prone. She loses Concentration on Gust of Wind. Then he bites her for 10 piercing dmg.

- C4 runs off the boat up the dock to Poetry and tail swipes her for 12 bludgeoning dmg and knocks her prone. Then it bites her for 14 piercing dmg.

- Soliana casts Wither and Bloom on C1 and C4 for 2 necrotic dmg and Niniel spends a Hit Dice for 24 HP. She backs up away from the dock 15'.

- Caleb throws a psychic dagger at C1 for 8 psychic dmg (all ones on the sneak attack is so rough) then throws another for 6 psychic dmg. 

- C2 jumps into the water and swims under the dock next to Niniel where he Readies to bite anyone who comes into range.   

- Zemma Rages growing long claws on her fingers, runs around C2 dodging the Bite attack, and then slashes him with her claws for 10 slashing dmg. Then she slashes again for 11 slashing dmg. The third claw attack hits for 12 slashing dmg.

- C3 dives into the water and then swims to shore and bites Poetry for 14 piercing dmg.

- Niniel Misty Steps next to Ember landing standing up and then she Eldritch Blasts C1 twice for a total of 23 force dmg. Niniel has never seen these critters before, but now that she's seen them in action a bit, they are not very dexterous, strong, tough, they are faster in the water than on land since their front "legs" are flippers like a dolphin, and they are not very smart. 

 

- Poetry stands up and casts Burning Hands on C3 and C4 for 9 fire dmg and them Ember flies over to Poetry and Fiery Teleports her away dealing 4 fire dmg to C1 and C3. 

- C1 moves to flank Zemma and tail swipes her for 15 (7) bludgeoning dmg and then bites her for 14 (7) piercing dmg.

- C4 follows Poetry and Tail Swipes her for 12 bludgeoning dmg and then bites her for 11 piercing dmg, and Poetry goes unconscious.

- Soliana casts Wither and Bloom on Ember dealing 10 necrotic dmg to C3, 5 to C4, and Poetry regains 15 HP. She summons a tiny immaterial Grim next to C2. She then takes 15' of steps farther up the beach.

- Caleb throws a psychic dagger at C1 for 19 psychic dmg and then throws another for 6 psychic dmg, and C1 is barely holding on.

- C2 bites Zemma for 24 (12) piercing dmg.

- Zemma stands up and claws C1 for 8 slashing dmg getting a claw in its eye socket ripping open its head so that its brain starts spilling out. Then she claws C2 for 10 slashing dmg and then misses.

- C3 runs past Ember straight to Caleb missing his with tail and also misses biting. 

- Niniel casts Lightning Bolt on C2 and C3 for 36 lightning dmg. C2 vibrates and then explodes. She then summons a Tentacles next to C4 dealing 4 cold dmg to it. 

 

- Poetry stands up and casts Burning Hands on C4 for 12 fire dmg then Ember grabs Poetry and then Fiery Teleports them 15' towards Zemma. 

- C4 runs up to Caleb and misses with tail and bite. 

- Soliana casts Magnify Gravity to try to pull the two Crocodolphins away from Caleb, but they are too persistent, only taking 5 force dmg. She moves 15' farther away up the beach.

- Caleb pulls out his rapier and stabs C3 for 10 piercing dmg.

- Zemma runs around and flanks C3 with missing with her first claw attack, then she slashes it for 12 slashing dmg killing it! Then she moves to flank C4 with Caleb and claws it for 10 slashing dmg.

- Niniel moves her tentacles over to C4 slapping it for 3 cold dmg then she casts Eldritch Blast on C4 hitting with one bolt of power for 9 force dmg.

 

- Poetry casts Scorching Ray hitting twice for a total of 20 fire dmg. Its head explodes splattering Zemma, Poetry, and Caleb in gore and sending a fine mist of blood far enough that even Niniel and Soliana get some droplets on their outfits. 

END OF BATTLE 

- Soliana immediately starts cleaning her skirt with Prestidigitation

- There are no creatures or people around. There is a decent amount of damage to the boats. 

- The crocodile and dolphin parts of the creatures actually do look different like two different creatures molded together. 

- Niniel grabs one of the crocodilean teeth and a bit of dolphin skin / blubber, wraps it some kelp and sticks it in her Patron Pouch.

- After a moment practically with the same motion, her pouch feels heavy like something dropped into it, and she pulls out a chunk of a person's face (an chunk with an eyeball) and at least a half cup of blood pours out.

- Everyone sees this (for the first time), so Soliana immediately casts Detect Magic and the bag emits Conjuration magic. 

- Niniel offers the bit of face to Soliana in case its useful, but she doesn't want anything to do with it.

 - Zemma finds a fishing pole and uses it to fish.

- Niniel carves some blubber from the dolphin bits to save for a snack later.

- Poetry is still wrecked, so they settle on some soft, clean sand and Niniel wanders to find a pretty shell which she polishes and puts in the bag as an apology 

 

- 2,000 XP ea for 21,500 XP total ea.

The Deep, Dark Woods - July 25, 2025

 - What One Hand Gives

 

- Soliana asks Nym about the creature from the woods, but they don't have anything yet. The four days she was gone was only half an hour (or less) for everyone at the Twilit Grove.

- Soliana has done some reading about Chislev and has come to the conclusion that the Goddess of Nature who doesn't like civilization probably wouldn't want a temple dedicated to her. She usually just has rangers and druids who are hermits in the woods as her few dedicated worshipers. 

- They arrive at the small temple at the tail end of a sermon about how fire tempers steel and so do the trials of life strengthen humans. Blah blah blah.

- Niniel follows the older gentleman outside to follow up with him while Soliana and everyone else talk to Father Wesley Powell. 

- Soliana tells the Father that she doesn't think that Chislev would want a temple in the form of a building, but maybe a community garden?

- The Father is very excited about the idea of the hard labor the construction of such a garden would entail, though he tries not to dedicate himself to one god in particular as there are good lessons to be taken from most of the pantheon (even a few of the evil gods). His zeal about hard work and tribulations is off-putting to Soliana.

- Niniel and Frederick chat outside and Frederick doesn't want a grand temple, just a small shrine area where he can express thanks and request aid from Chislev to request rain and healthy crops since he's a farmer and it's been a hard year what with the weevils and all.

- Everyone convenes in the area Frederick was thinking to make his shrine, which is a clearing in the edge of the forest.

- Father Powell thinks this area is "contaminated" but when Soliana asks contaminated with what, he doesn't really answer.

- Soliana pokes the dirt, and it looks okay.

- Poetry looks around and the plants in this area do seem a little stunted.

- Soliana ritually casts Detect Magic and watches while Poetry casts Plant Growth on this little plot and the area doesn't take the magic right. The plants grow, but they look very sickly and deeper in the forest the affect is worse. This is the general direction of forest where the human-armed millipede 

- Because of her research into the gods this morning, she realizes now that the red-hooded symbol on the back of the millipede is the symbol of Morgion, the God of Decay and Suffering. 

- They walk to the other side of town where Father Powell thinks might be better, but it is very rocky and would need a LOT more work to clear it for a garden than the genuinely contaminated area near the forest.

- Poetry casts Plant Growth on this area, and the plants grow just fine. 

- The Keepers of the Grove are very concerned about the blight in the forest, so Father Powell and Frederick excuse themselves while the Keepers go to poke about in the woods for the rest of the afternoon.

- Once they are alone, everyone agrees there's something off about Father Powell.

- Poetry casts Speak with Plants on a scraggly sapling that grew up quickly, and it doesn't know why it's so deformed, but there's something wrong or weird in the soil or maybe the water? It's probably coming from below, mostly likely. Maybe. The tree is in pain, and Poetry is insulting it asking it about why it's so deformed and wrong.

- Soliana proposed digging up one of the stunted saplings on the way back and putting it in a pot to see if it can grow correctly when removed from the contaminated area, but in a pot it can't spread the contamination if it's more a disease.

- There's wondering about whether there might be caves, so

- Soliana Sends to Nym, "Are there any maps of this area in the library? Are there any known caves?"

- Nym Sends back that there are maps, but he doesn't know of any caves.

- They head back to where they fought and killed the scary millipede thing.

- As they are walking and the forest gets darker because the canopy is thicker, Poetry notices a glowing green light off to the left.

- The small plants like underbrush and bushes and things look very gnarled and twisted. The newest growth on the trees is starting to look that way as well.

- They find a stone alter glowing and with the iconography of Morgion. Poetry spreads mud over the symbol, but the magic doesn't change.

- This area is the forest is too quiet. 

- Soliana casts Detect Magic (ritually) and the alter's glowing with necromancy and a touch of conjuration. 

- Soliana casts Dispel Magic on the alter, and the glow disappears. Since Detect Magic is still up, she can see the necromantic energy is lessened, but the alter still has some latent magical energy.

- They head back to Lamara and tell Frederick that they are going to design a garden to be dedicated to Chislev for the farmers and they will be in touch once they have more information about the right location for the garden.

- In the library Soliana uses her magic quill to copy a map of the area and marks the approximate location of the alter to take to Headmistress Sharai who is said to be good friends with an important and powerful cleric of Mishakal who is like the opposite of Morgion. 

- They go to bed and wait for the coach to arrive in the morning.

 

- 1,500 XP ea. for 19,500 total XP ea.

This Tree Brought to You by Murder - July 11, 2025

- Kitty dice

 

- Soliana casts Guiding Hand to guide them to Clarenville so they don't get lost and spend too long in the woods.

- Once they have walked for a bit, there is a very uncomfortable conversation between Soliana and Caleb where she asks him to explain "sodomy" because of Valar.

- Two days of walking later, they arrive in Clarenville in the late afternoon. 

- They go book some rooms in the local tavern "The Goat's Mane" then go to the Stanley Lumber Mill to request a meeting with Thomas Stanley for in the morning. (The specialty drink is a minty, lavender vodka type of thing. It's pretty good.)

- By the time they reach the lumber mill, it is shut down for the day. Caleb writes a note. Something along the lines of "Back from the mission. See you in the morning."

- Soliana ritually casts Detect Magic, and sure enough there are a few stacks of the special trees that are innately magically (enchantment magic) and a few stacks of beams that have been milled from those trees.

- She grabs a few small chunks of the magic wood that broke off the trees that are lying around.

- They go back to the inn. At some point in the evening, Niniel makes conversation with the bartender, and she learns that Thomas Stanley owns the inn, the sawmill, the general store, and an iron works. 

- Soliana joins Niniel at the bar trying to learn to be more comfortable in social situations, and Niniel orders her a tiny one of the lavender Mojito drinks, which causes Soliana to learn that Grim can sense her senses when he comments that the drink is nice.

- Niniel encourages Soliana to try to make conversation with the bartender, and she ends up accidentally giving him a lecture about rocks. She gets out her book and is showing pictures. Niniel rescues him by using a Minor Illusion spell to make it look like a cup fell over and spilled so he could excuse himself. 

- The bartender gives Soliana a sparkling, fruity wine for her second drink. In a marble cup from a local quarry. Because the bartender is good at social situations. 

- The next morning, as they approach the sawmill, the workers are actively milling one of the magical trees, so Niniel uses Minor Illusion to make it sound like a wolf is howling and snarling. The workers kind of look at each other shrug and get back to work.

- As they approach, a well-dressed man greets them. It is Thomas Stanley. 

- Thomas is very surprised to find they did not provide any proof of dead werewolves, but is very surprised to hear that the werewolves are only trying to protect the magical trees. 

- The conversation does not go well and Thomas and Caleb get more and more heated until Caleb finally loses his temper and puts a psychic knife into Thomas's forehead and Thomas just instantly crumples.

- The world swirls and the party finds themselves back in the stable at The Twilit Grove. The stall where the lightning was originating now has a tree of a similar type that also gives off native Enchantment magic. It's not the exact same species, but maybe the same genus native to this area.

- Soliana goes and checks with Emmyth and they've only been "gone" five or ten minutes.

- Niniel looks for the cairn she built, but she can't find it. She etches with lightning energy a tiny fish head into the back of the tree.

- Once everyone is back inside, Niniel says she's going to bed even though they just woke up in the leap world. Soliana goes off to read about Chislev to prepare for chatting with the priest (Father Westley Powell) before heading back to Arrandale.

- While in the library Soliana Sends to Sir Foxglove, "Leaped again here in Lamara. Stable crackled with lightning. Fought the lumbering of an enchanted grove. Did you sense the pulling in the lay lines?"

- "Interesting. I will have to check. Very unusual since this one is so far from the coast. Wonder what causes them."

 

- 1,500 XP ea for 18,000 XP total ea.

The Bullshit Thickens - July 4, 2025

 - Long May He Reign

 

- Soliana Sends to the stable at the Moonveil Academy in Arrandale to order a carriage to come and get them from Lamara and take them back to Arrandale.

- Very very early the next morning, Ms Emmyth knocks urgently on Soliana's door saying there's something weird going on out at the stables. 

- Soliana wakes up Zemma after throwing an overdress on over her nightgown and they head outside. 

- The rundown stable is crackling with lightning.

- Soliana ritually casts Detect Magic and the lightning is crackling with Divination magic. 

- Soliana does Message cantrips to Caleb and Niniel while Zemma runs out to get Poetry who is too far for the cantrip.

- Niniel says she is resistant to lightning, so she goes inside to take a look. She feels a wave of disorientation as she enters, and so does everyone else. 

- She sees that the cairn she hid in there is shooting arcs of lightning into the structure of the dilapidated old stable.

- Niniel moves closer to the cairn, but as she approaches it it gets harder and harder to move and then there's a flash and suddenly everyone is sitting around a campfire.

- There is also another elf at the campfire. He is very confused about Niniel's sudden outburst about how she didn't touch anything and says they were hired to help him find and kill werewolves that killed his master (Morton Stanley).

- They are in the woods outside of Clarenville. No one in the original group knows where this is.

- Soliana conjures a Healing Elixir for the day since they are now hunting werewolves.

- Caleb starts shouting to try to draw werewolves to them.

- Despite all this, Zemma gets an idea of what direction the wolf howl they heard is coming from. And it's probably within a mile of their camp.

- Zemma and Poetry goes to sleep while all the elves and Niniel keep watch.

- After several hours, an arrow flies past missing Niniel. Niniel sends her angler fish dancing light in the direction the arrow cam from, but then something else attacks from the other side of camp.

- There are at least three werewolves attacking.

WEREWOLF BATTLE

- Valar (guest elf) moves up to the closest werewolf and slices into him for 9 and then again for 5 slashing dmg.

- Werewolf1 moves up to Valar and misses then biting for 11 piercing dmg.

- Zemma runs around a tree flanking W1 with Valar turning into a rage kitty as she runs clawing W1 for 10 slashing dmg then she misses.

- Poetry moves forward a little bit and then summons Ember within 10' of W1 a nd W3, but also Zemma and Valar. Most everyone takes 4 (half) fire dmg. Ember throws a Flame Seed at W1 hitting for 14 fire dmg.

- W2 moves up to Valar and misses then bites for 14 piercing dmg. 

- Niniel summons a tentacle out of the side of the tree next to W1 and misses smacking it. Then she Eldritch Blasts W2 for 24 force dmg and then again for 11 force dmg. 

- W3 bites Valar for 10 piercing dmg but misses with its claws. Niniel's tentacle shoves it aside so it wasn't as bad as it could have been (Niniel's reaction).

- Caleb moves around to see around Soliana and misses throwing a psychic knife at W2 twice.

- Soliana casts Magnify Gravity on W2 and W3. W2 gets pull 10' and takes 10 force dmg and its speed is halved, but W3 takes 5 force dmg and has not speed reduction. She then moves over to Valar putting the Healing Elixir into his hand and then moving away again.

 

- Valar swings at W1 that he is flanking with Zemma on for 11 slashing dmg then he misses. Then he Action Surges and attacks again for 20 slashing dmg and again for 12 slashing dmg. 

- W1 bites Valar for 18 piercing dmg and Valar has 1 HP! W1 then turns and claws Zemma for 4 slashing dmg. 

- Zemma claws W1 for 8 slashing dmg. Then she misses. Then she claws it again for 11 slashing dmg.

- Poetry casts Wither and Bloom on all the werewolves and also on Valar. W1 takes 8 necrotic dmg, W2 and W3 take 4 necrotic dmg. Valar regains 11 HP. Ember throws a Flame Seed at W1 for 4 fire dmg. 

- W2 runs over to Zemma and misses biting her. Then it claws her for 10 (5) slashing dmg.

- Niniel orders her tentacle to smack W1 but it misses. Niniel moves around the tree she had ducked behind and then Eldritch Blasts W1 for 19 force dmg killing it! Her other Eldritch Blast hits W2 for 11 force dmg. 

- W3 bites Valar for 9 piercing dmg and Valar and the werewolf missing clawing him with another Interposing tentacle helping. W3 turns to run and Valar manages to slash it for 17 dmg.

- Caleb runs around a tree to get line of sight to W2 throwing a psychic dagger into it for 27 psychic dmg. 

- Soliana moves up to Valar missing with a third level Chromatic Orb then she moves back next to a tree.

 

- Valar slices into W2 for 7 slashing dmg and then again for 10 slashing dmg killing it!

 

- Niniel turns to look at the area where the arrow came from. She doesn't find anything.

- Valar looks at the two bodies of the werewolves, but he does find a letter that has a description of Morton Stanley and where to find him. So it looks like Morton's death was a hired kill.

- SHORT REST - Soliana conjures a new Healing Elixir giving it to Valar while Poetry bandages his bite wounds. He gets 13 HP from the healing elixir and then she conjures another one for the future. 

- Once Valar is patched up, Zemma starts to follow the trail left by the werewolf that ran away. Following the trail is pretty easy at first, but then they are afraid they are lost, but then Zemma is sure she's on the right track. 

- Shortly after dawn they come upon a small village of people going about their morning routines. 

- Stardust flies through, but doesn't find anything suspicious.

- Niniel goes up to a lady whose gardening and asks if there is a place in the village to stay because she was lost in the woods. The woman asks if she saw the monster in the clearing and point Niniel in the direction of the clearing. It's west (not the direction they came from). The woman seems sad.

- Everyone heads in the direction of the clearing. Valar follows reluctantly. He really wants to questions more people.

- There is a section of forest that has been clear cut and is full of stumps. 

- Everyone starts looking around and Poetry finds an axe that was left behind with an inscription on the side that MS Logging and Lumber. That is tucked into the Bag of Holding. 

- Soliana sees that the stumps are oozing a green viscous liquid, and a few of them look blackened and decayed. 

- Caleb finds some stumps that look like they have a sprouted sapling in the center of the stump. 

- Soliana ritually casts Detect Magic and the green ooze is Necromantic. 

- Niniel gather some of the ooze in an empty potion bottle.

- The ooze is only present on the stumps of the cut trees. There is none on any standing trees.

- They find the spot where the trees were dragged and loaded onto carts. It looks like it's back in the direction they came from.

- Stardust flies along the cart tracks to scout.

- The cart tracks go on a long way. 

- Valar is complaining a lot.

- They head back to the small village and Niniel goes back to the woman who was gardening. Niniel asks if there was particular significance to that area of the forest. 

- The woman just looks sad. She whispers to Niniel to go to the circle at midnight. The circle is to the north and not to be seen or we will be killed. She immediately goes back inside her house refusing to answer any more questions.

- Zemma finds someone who is doing some mending or building and starts immediately helping. They are apparently building a new chicken coop.

- Everybody else heads to the local tavern, the Spirits' Spirits. The innkeeper is Galvin Talbot. 

- Niniel goes up to one of the old men and asks if he knows anything about the MS Logging and Lumber axe they found.

- He says he almost never leaves the bar, and Niniel can tell he is hiding something, but she can't tell if he is a werewolf.

- Soliana, Caleb, and Valar sit in the corner of the tavern and Trance.

- After that they head north into the forest.  

- The village itself is deserted at this time of night.

- Pretty quickly they can see through the trees a large bonfire with a large crowd around it.

- Zemma climbs a tree.

- Niniel casts invisibility on herself and Poetry. 

- Soliana ducks behind a tree and sends Stardust into the clearing to sit on an a branch and watches through her eyes and ears. 

- Valar walks into the clearing milling about like he belongs there. (16 Deception)

- There is a stone alter in the clearing behind the bonfire.

- The crowd seems to be mostly just people from the town.

- Poetry notices there are carving in the trees. Five trees have what looks like it has a hand print about 36" above the ground. Higher up on the trees maybe 15-20' off the ground there are wolf heads carved into the trees. Between the hand prints and the wolf heads, each tree has a carving of one of the stages of human to werewolf transformation carved on it.

- Not long after everyone is in position, a large werewolf arrives with men who are carrying two very wounded werewolves who get placed on the alter. One of the wounded wolves is the one who ran away from their fight.

- The large wolf says to the crowd, "Our brothers have been injured in our fight. We fight to preserve the village and our way of life. We must help our brothers so they can continue to defend us." Or something like that.

- Five people approach each of the trees and put their hands on the hand prints while the rest of the crowd chants and sways rhythmically.

- The people touching the trees begin to moan in pain and their hands seem to sink into the trees. The next thing is that the eyes in the wolves' faces start to glow, and then glowing rays of magic shoot down onto the wolves on the alter, and you can watch them healing.

- Just as the two werewolves are sitting up looking around, someone on the edge of the crowd starts screaming and everyone turns to flip around and look and there are small, humanoid creatures with sharpened sticks for spears, fluffy, leafy bodies, and what looks like sticks growing out of their bodies. There are also some glowing clouds.   

BATTLE à TROIS

- A Green Cloud of Ethereal Energy (GC1) moves into the crowd, surrounds someone, and starts to consume them. 

- Werewolf1 darts through the crowd past Valar who slices into it with his sword as it goes by dealing 14 slashing dmg. W1 runs up to one of the fern-bodied guys and eviscerates the BlueFern1.

- Soliana runs around towards where she saw Caleb disappear and then casts Magnify Gravity at 2nd level next to the bonfire and gets two of the werewolves with 8 force and fire dmg. She then summons Grim's spirit next to the Werewolf Leader (WL).

- GC2 misses stabbing Valar.

- GC4 moves up into Zemma's tree and surrounds and starts to consume her dealing 9 necrotic dmg.

- Valar turns from where he was watching WL and slices into GC2 for 5 slashing dmg and again for another 5 slashing dmg.

- WL moves next to GC2 and bites and claws at the GC1.

- Poetry casts Scorching Ray at 3rd level on WL, three of which hit, for a total of 23 fire dmg.  

- BlueFern2 moves up to Niniel and misses because she is invisible.

- W3 runs up to Caleb misses biting and then misses clawing as well.

- GC3 surrounds Valar and starts consuming him for 13 necrotic dmg.

- RedFern1 moves up to W1 and stabs for 6 piercing dmg

- RedFern2 moves up to W1 and misses.

- OrangeFern1 moves towards Poetry

- OrangeFern2 moves towards Poetry

- Caleb gives a sort of surrendering hand to W3 and runs around a tree to see Zemma and throws a psychic dagger at GC4 then misses again. W3 does not attack him as he runs away.

- W2 moves into the crowd up to GC1, but because of Soliana that's all he can do.

- Zemma turns into a Rage Kitty her first attempt to claw misses, but then she gets it for 7 slashing dmg. Her last attempt also misses.

- Niniel moves out of the crowd and casts Lightning Bolt on RF1, YellowFern1, and YellowFern2 for 26 lightning dmg incinerating all of them straight to ash. Then she summons a tentacle and hits GC2 for 3 cold dmg and -10' speed.

 

- GC1 misses W2

- W1 misses RF2.

- Soliana tells Caleb who is now next to her that she thinks they made a mistake attacking the werewolves, so she runs around Poetry and casts another Magnify Gravity killing both the OrangeFerns and dealing 10 force dmg to GC4

- GC2 hits Valar for 17 necrotic dmg.

- GC4 hits Zemma for 7 necrotic dmg with a helping nudge from Niniel's tentacle.

- Valar slices in WL for 9 slashing dmg and again for 6 slashing dmg. He Action Surges but misses the first attempt and then manages to slice into him again for 10 slashing dmg.

- WL turns to Valar and bites him for 15 piercing dmg then misses clawing him.

- Poetry summons Ember within 10' of GC1, GC2, GC3, and W1. Only W1 takes the 4 fire dmg. Ember throws a Flame Seed at GC3 but misses.

- BF2 moves up to Niniel and stabs her for 9 piercing dmg.

- W3 moves up to GC3 and next to Valar but because he has to weave through the crowd, so he can't attack yet.

- GC3 misses W3.

- RF2 stabs WL

- Caleb runs around between Soliana and Poetry and misses twice with his daggers. (This dice was put into the dice jail.)

- W2 misses its attacks.

- Zemma claws GC4 for 16 slashing dmg, then she misses, and then she claws it again for 7 slashing dmg.

- Niniel casts Misty Step and steps to the far side of a tree to get away from BF2 and Eldritch Blasts GC1 for 10 force dmg and then again for 10 force dmg.

 

- GC1 hits W2

- W1 eviscerates RF2 

- Soliana runs around Caleb and Zemma fighting GC4 and casts another Magnify Gravity getting the three GCs for 18 force dmg each (They do not like force dmg.

- GC2 misses W1.

- GC4 hits Zemma for 13 necrotic dmg with help from Niniel's tentacle.

- Valar misses the WL then slices into him for 12 slashing dmg.

- WL misses biting Valar, then he claws him for 13 slashing dmg knocking him unconscious.

- Poetry casts Scorching Ray on GC4 hitting all three times for a total of 21 fire dmg, which kills it! 

- BF2 starts stabbing civilians in the crowd.

- W3  moves up and misses biting GC3

- GC3 hits W3 for 9 necrotic dmg.

- Caleb moves up to Zemma's tree and throws two daggers missing twice. (Another die in the dice jail)

- W2 moves up to and attacks GC3 for some dmg Jeremiah never said aloud. 

- Zemma leaps out of the tree landing amongst the crowd behind W3 clawing him for 9 slashing dmg and then missing then clawing him again for 12 slashing dmg. She then gives a loud Draconic Cry affecting W3, W2, and GC3.

- Niniel moves her tentacle missing GC3. Then she Eldritch Blasts GC2 killing it, and then sends the other bolt to GC2 but misses.

 

- W1 bites GC3 for some dmg.

- Soliana runs up closer to Caleb and casts Wither and Bloom such that GC3 takes 4 necrotic dmg and Valar can spend a Hit Die and gets 8 HP back.

- Valar stands up and slices in WL for 16 slashing dmg and then he misses.

- WL misses Valar twice.

- Poetry casts Scorching Ray only hitting once for 22 fire dmg killing GC3. Ember chooses not to attack the werewolves, but she does fly over next to Valar to try to get him out if he goes unconscious again.

- Everybody misses Valar

- Caleb runs along the edge of the crowd and throws a psychic dagger and BF2 where it is stabbing villagers and kills it. Then he calls out to the werewolves to knock it off. (19 Persuasion) W2 stands down.

- Zemma readies herself to attack if W3 if he attacks first.

- Niniel steps out from behind her tree and she casts Fog Cloud centered on Valar. Then she calls out "We said knock it off" channeling the Kraken to get everyone to stop (27 Persuasion check). For a brief moment of time tentacles spike out of her body before disappearing. 

 

- W1 holds his action for now.

- Soliana just calls out, "Please! Please, can we just talk?!"

- Valar spins around confused.

Battle Paused 

- Caleb asks what is going on with the grove?

- The werewolves do not answer, just breath heavily.

- Soliana calls out "We're not with the plant and cloud guys, just to be clear."

- One of the werewolves growls, "No, you're with the dirty desecraters." 

- Niniel lowers the Fog Cloud and Zemma pounces on Valar to hold him back. 

- The werewolves explain that the forest spirits were harvesting life energy to regrow itself.

- Caleb bonds with the werewolves over taking rich peoples' money but ignoring what they say if it's wrong and also being a viscious fighter who does best when he has friends in the fray. They suggest he try running naked under the light of the moon. Caleb thinks that sounds pretty dope.

- Soliana suggests they tie up a still squirming Valar and toss him into the tavern, then have Poetry cast some Plant Growth in the Clearing, and then the non-Valar part of the group heads back to the town with MS Logging and Lumber and convince them to stop taking the special trees.

- The WL offers to come with them to help with the "persuasion".

- It's decided that the werewolves will stay back to guard the trees and the group will go into the town several days away where the trees were taken.

- They rest in Galvin's tavern overnight. 

 

- 2,500 XP ea for 16,500 total ea.

Wait, the plan worked?! - June 27, 2025

- Long May He Reign

 

- After they have rested, Caleb pulls one of his largest daggers and starts hacking. He gets the creature's head and the part of the carapace with the red hood symbol. Niniel asks for one of the pinkies of the creature, Caleb asks if he wants to know why, and Niniel says no, but he just chops the pinky off for her anyway.

- Soliana throws up in the woods because of the gore and ichor.

- She has to re-prestiditation herself clean.

- They walk back to town. Soliana and Niniel go to Thomas's house to explain about the monster and to show Thomas that they are okay after killing the creature.

- Thomas's dad doesn't know much about the bandits north of town, so they head back to the house.

BASTION TURN 1 

- They bring the head and bits to Nym to ask him to Research on it. (That was Soliana's order to the Library. Tanelia is helping with preservation spells)

- Zemma tells her Smithy to make a chain. She gets the glass blowers in her Workshop to make her a spyglass.

- Poetry has the herb garden start harvesting and everyone in the party gives 100 GP to start investing in the Store house (total of 500 GP invested) to start getting the party fund proceeds going.

- Niniel has her herb garden (under the sea) harvest 50 GP and with the money saved buying ingredients, they invest that in the Storehouse. 

- Caleb just has his smithy and workshop just work on repairing the very dilapidated house. (Maintain)

       - One of his smithy workers thinks they saw a ghost in the forge!

- The next morning (19th Redfall a Fireday), when Emmyth doesn't know the man who complained about the bandits, the group heads to the pub in town called the Thorny Rose.

- Niniel immediately orders the house special (house made whiskey). Soliana "objects" because it's 8AM. Niniel gets her drink. She says it's the best drink she's had on land. She gets a second one to which Soliana "objects" because it's 8:05 AM. They learn they are mostly picking on merchants, but Christophe (the bartender) lost a really nice shovel.

- They head back to the manor for Soliana to change into her new green dress, she digs a gold belt out of her mother's closet which she cleans and Niniel polishes. She then uses Shape Water to make shiny, sparkly jewelry to catch the light and attention.

- They borrow Mrs. Bronzebelch's nicest cloak for Zemma so she and Soliana can hold hands and walk looking like a parent and child (maybe?) while Niniel makes herself and Poetry invisible and Caleb does his sneaky rogue thing in the woods and grass beside the road.

- The plan goes into affect about a mile outside of town. 

- Stardust is overhead keeping an eye out and sees a person standing beside the road just the other side of the crest of the hill.

- Once they crest the hill, they see a middle aged man in a thick wool sweater and a pitchfork.

- Soliana suddenly realizes the problem with the plan is that she is the one who has to talk to strangers.

- She greets the man and has the world's most awkward small talk. While attempting to flash her water bracelet subtly. 

- Niniel patiently waits in the road and watches the man leave the road and go over another hill. 

- Once he's over the hill, she catches back up to Soliana and shares the information. 

- Soliana sends her sight back into Stardust who flies over the hill and sees several men camped behind a wall of hay bales that blends into the fields and hides their position, but they can see two sides of a curve in the road.  

- They keep walking and do not get ambushed.

- Soliana draws a quick bird's eye view map and they plan a route where Caleb, Niniel, and Poetry sneak ahead to get into position and then Soliana and Zemma will approach.

- Soliana approaches and asks how to get back to Lamara because her "young one" ran off the road and she got turned around. She also asks if they are bandits because they did not talk about what Soliana should say when she got here. She also tells them she's Lady Ashera 

- Caleb manages to sneak in and grab a really nice shovel out of the look out area.

- Soliana continues talking and then Caleb pops out right next to one of the eight guys and says they can do this the easy way, the hard way, or the fire druid burns every thing you own to the ground way. 

- Jethro and Benjamin immediately concede. Niniel gathers up the weapons. 

- They are offered jobs at the manor in the fields or doing repairs or helping in the smithies and workshops. 

- The offer is accepted. They are mostly farmers, but there was a weevil infestation over the summer that wiped out most of their crops.

- Jethro and Benjamin and their crew say they definitely don't want to mess with Caleb because he's freaking scary. 

- Soliana says she can control gravity and casts Magnify Gravity out in the field near some rocks and detritus. 

- Everyone walks back to Lamara together. Some magical philosophical discussion is had along the way.

- Niniel checks her Patron Pouch and finds the skull of a fish's head in her pouch and she has another compulsion and builds another cairn. She hides it in the slowly collapsing stable this time.

- Soliana does her agreed upon Sending to Sir Foxglove, "How is the research coming along? We're in Lamara rebuilding my family's manor which has becoming dilapidated after fifty years of abandonment."  

- She receives back, "I think I have found another anomaly if you are still on retainer. Or if I need to find someone else." 

- Soliana gets with her friends and then Sends back to Sir Foxglove, "We are still interested. If we can get back to Arrandale, do you have the means to teleport us back to Port Carling?" 

- "No."

- The new plan is to contact the carriage service at the Moonveil Academy to get them back to Arrandale and ask very nicely for Sharai to send them to Port Carling again.

A Nightmare in the Woods - June 20, 2025

 - Positive dinosaur

 

- Additional information is decided about the Bastion hirelings:

- Tanelia Yelmoira (recently graduated Transmutation Wizard) works in the Arcane Study

- Nym Ularan (recent history graduate from Moonveil Academy) work in the library.

- Alvyn and Carla Bronzebelch (a married gnome couple) work in Zemma's smithy

- Budurk (male half-orc) works in Zemma's workshop

- Nekaria (female tiefling) works in Zemma's workshop

- Rolamin Cedarflower (male forest elf) works in Zemma's workshop

 

- After a few days of activity at the house, people start showing up to greet the young Lady Ashera and bring present, like sacks of potatoes. Soliana does her best to take everything as gracefully as her mother would have. She also gets a brace of coneys and a lovely green dress sewn with golden thread that actually fits pretty well considering how tiny she is.

- It's only another day after that that the requests for help start coming in. 

- Another day, a young elven woman comes to visit and she looks very sad. She thinks there's a creature in the woods east of town who ate her daughter. The young girl was playing near the woods with several other children, and only one boy came back. That poor boy will not go near the woods and is too scared to speak. 

- Not long after this as well, an older gentleman comes to ask Soliana for help ridding the area of some bandits that assaulted his son on the road that leads north out of the village. She hands him the healing potion she conjured for the day to take home to his son.

- The next day before they can even leave the house to go hunting, there's a strong rapping on the door. There's a tall man standing there, who wants to complain about the local priest Father Powell. They want to build a new temple to Chislev, but the father is against it. He's a bit bombastic, and Niniel shoves him out the door so they can finish getting supplied up to go child-eating monster hunting.

- Within an hour of finally setting out, they arrive at the traditional area by the woods where children used to play. It is at this point that Zemma asks what they are looking for. Niniel asks why they didn't try talking to the kid. Soliana says, but the boy can't talk. Caleb says he could ask him in his head, so they turn around and head back to Lamara to find the boy.

- They get directions from a friendly lady to The Boy Who Lived's house. She also mentions that The Hunter went into the woods to look for the children, but he never came back either.

- They have to persuade the boy's (Thomas) father to let them speak to the child because he is only just starting to act more normally and the father doesn't want him re-traumatize. Soliana reminds the father that her parents 

- Soliana sits next to him and holds his hands and gets his permission for Caleb to talk in his head so he doesn't have to talk out loud. She also gives his the labradorite stone she found on the island with the siren problems. She also tells him that he can go to the library to read books about rocks whenever he wants. 

- Caleb connects with Thomas and learns that the children followed a path until the forest got dark and then there were too many legs, and little spiders were everything, and first it grabbed Beth and then it grabbed his other friend and then there were screams and then there were spiders everywhere and he ran. And there were screams.

- Thomas is trembling with the memories, so Soliana reminds him that he has his shiny new rock and he can go ask Nym the librarian to help him find all the best books about rocks and he was very brave to let Caleb talk to him in his head. They do let his father know about being allowed to visit the library and that they were off to the woods to deal with the spiders.

- They get back to the woods, and Zemma can easily see that there's a path and starts leading the way.

- When they get to the point where it's hard to know if they are still on a path, Caleb, Soliana, and Poetry realize that the forest is really very dark. The canopy is very thick, but that it also seems like it's dimmer than it should be. There's also a fog and mist rising off the ground as well. 

- Poetry also realizes that something doesn't feel right and she realizes that she hasn't heard any ambient sounds in a while.

- Poetry and Niniel look around and don't really see many new growing things. Poetry uses her sense of Nature to figure out which direction feels worst.

- Up ahead they start to hear leaves rustling. 

- Soliana casts Mage Armor on herself because she was so distracted this morning she forgot.

- Poetry casts Pass Without a Trace and they start sneaking towards the rustling sounds.

- Zemma takes point.

- What they see when they look ahead is a giant centipede. It is probably 42" tall and at least 15' long. The legs aren't legs but human arms with hands and a human face that comes to a point like a cone of a face. 

- It locks eyes with Caleb. 

NIGHTMARE CENTIPEDE BATTLE

- Nightmare Centipede moves up to Niniel and grabs her with one of its arm legs. Niniel is grappled. Then it bites her with its weird, pointy human face for 10 piercing and 2 poison dmg. Niniel is poisoned. Then it stabs her with a centipede pincer thingy for 12 slashing dmg and 2 poison dmg. 

- Soliana backs up a little bit (15' or so) then casts Grim's Mischief on the centipede, but the centipede saves. 

- Poetry moves a little closer to the NC and summons Ember within 10' of it but farther than 10' from Niniel and then Ember misses with her Flame Seed.

- The NC makes a low rumbling sound and then suddenly the leaves all around start rustling and two spider swarms coalesce. One next to Soliana and the other next to Caleb. 

- Spider Swarm 2 bites Soliana for 9 piercing dmg. Grim's Mischief fades as Soliana is surprised by this sudden attack.

- SpSw1 misses biting Caleb.

- Caleb Disengages from the SpSw and runs up to the NC and stabs it with his rapier for 13 piercing. As a reaction the NC turns its face to Caleb and vomits a 40' line of grossness so Caleb takes 34 poison dmg. (Caleb now has 2 HP.) Caleb runs away again since Disengage is for your whole turn.

- Zemma Rages into a scaled kitty cat with big claws. She runs up to the NC and claws it for 9 slashing dmg. Then she claws it again for 13 slashing dmg. She then rears back and claws it again for 18 slashing dmg. 

- Niniel looks at the arm gripping her and says "Oww". She Misty Steps 30' away from the NC and casts Eldritch Blast at its butt. 

 

-  The NC attempts to grapple Zemma, but she is little and mighty then it moves up to Caleb and grabs him. It misses biting Zemma then pincers Caleb for 14 slashing dmg and Caleb is unconscious. 

- Soliana casts Vortex Warp on Caleb's body moving him almost 90' away from the NC then Starlight Steps next to him and pulls out her pre-conjured Healing Elixir and pops the cork. 

- Poetry casts Call Lightning and strikes the NC for 21 lightning dmg. Ember nails the NC with a Flame Seed for 17 fire dmg.

- SpSw2 moves up to Poetry and bites her for 10 piercing dmg.

- SpSw1 misses biting Poetry.   

- Caleb fails a Death ST.

- Zemma claws the NC for 9 slashing dmg. Then again for another 9 slashing. Then again for 10 slashing dmg. 

- Niniel moves around behind the NC and casts Lightning Bolt on it for 18 lightning dmg. In reaction to this, the NC turns its head toward Poetry and gets her and SpSw1 for 33 poison dmg. Most of the SpSw1 spiders are dissolved in the grossness. Poetry is very hurt. Niniel then summons a tentacle in the NC faces region and hits it for 5 cold dmg.

 

- The NC moves around to Poetry and grabs her with one of its 100 arm legs. It continues on to Niniel who manages to dodge the grapple. It bites Niniel for 16 piercing dmg and she is unconscious. It pincers Poetry for 12 slashing dmg. As it was leaving Zemma managed to claw it for 10 dmg. 

- Soliana feeds her Healing Elixir to Caleb, and then she moves 25' to "hide" behind a small tree.

- Poetry fails a Death ST. Ember prepares to Dodge.

- SpSw2 moves toward Soliana

- SpSw1 moves to Zemma

- Caleb stands up. He moves 15' toward Soliana and throws a psychic knife at the NC for 9 psychic dmg. Then he Hides.

- Zemma moves up to the NC and then misses with her claws. Then she slashes it successfully for 12 slashing dmg then she really gets in there with some claws for 16 slashing dmg. With one slash she takes off at least four arm legs. It is dead! The Spider Swarms dissipate now that their friend . 

- Niniel succeeds on the Death ST. 

 

- Soliana attempts to stabilize Poetry, but fails.

- Poetry succeeds on a Death ST.

- Caleb moves and Dashes to Niniel and also fails to stabilize.

- Zemma moves up and knocks Soliana's fumbling hands out of the way and succeeds in stabilizing Poetry.

- Niniel succeeds on a Death ST.

 

- Soliana runs over to Niniel and fails to stabilize her.

- Caleb knocks Soliana's fumbling hands out of the way and properly stabilizes Niniel.

 

- Soliana is nearly inconsolable over her unconscious friends because she got them into this mess.

- Caleb and Zemma sees that the back of the NC has a red symbol that looks like a faceless-hooded head. (A bell with an oval in it, kind of.) 

- Grim doesn't know what the creepy bug is or the symbol.

- A short rest is had.

 

- 2,000 XP ea. for 12,750 XP total ea.

An Interrogation Gone Wrong? #BastionDay - June 6, 2025

- Bright and early the next morning, Soliana, Poetry, and Zemma hide in a nearby alley while Niniel and Caleb enter the Tattered Parchment shop. It is a very small storefront packed full of shelves which are also packed too full of books.

- Midway down in the shop, there's large, red-faced human man with a handlebar mustache. They immediately start asking about what Rex knows about Grim. He claims to not know anything about the book and Niniel and Caleb believe him. (Bad Insight checks all around.)

- Niniel looks around the shop and finds that the nicest books are on the shelf adjacent to the counter itself, so Niniel grabs a random nice-looking book about botany and flips through it to test Rex's reaction.

- She then takes a different book about Elven architecture, but she isn't interested in that either.

- Niniel then gets fed up with the the situation and summons one of her day's tentacles then pulls her trident out and holds it under his chin and says she wants to know what he wants for it. 

- Caleb also immediately gets in on the act saying that they already took care of the people who tried to steal the book in question and they don't want to have to do it again.

- Rex hits a book and the whole shop fills with smoke and Niniel trips backwards and lands on her back. Caleb and Niniel hear the sounds of someone fleeing.

- Niniel casts Fly on herself goes over the counter and follows the sounds of fleeing down a hallway behind the counter, but she doesn't see Rex anywhere. She hears footsteps off to her right somewhere in the room.

- Soliana, Poetry, and Zemma see the small dusty windows fill with fog, but Rex does not come out the front.

- Caleb feels his way around the shop to follow after Niniel. 

- Niniel doesn't see an exit from the room, so she lands and casts Wall of Water in a ring around the edges of the room and she takes her time feeling around and does not find an invisible man in the space.

- Caleb finds another room off the hallway. It's a small storage room with nicer manuscripts and a safe.

- Caleb calls out to Niniel about the other room and she lets the Wall of Water fall with a sploosh.

- Caleb starts checking for traps and finds that the entry to the room is not trapped, but the safe probably is.

- Before dealing with the safe, Caleb goes into the room that was previously blocked by a Wall of Water and finds a secret door that leads to a back alley.

- He sticks his head out the door and tells his waiting friends to head to the university and get the carriage ready to go and they'll be along in a few minutes.

- Caleb then heads back inside and starts examining the safe more closely.

- Niniel goes through the desk in the room she soaked and finds ledgers with running ink. She feels good about ruining his notes.

- Caleb handily picks the lock and opens the safe without detonating the trap. He finds 100 GP and a fancy looking book. He takes both. Books goes straight into the bag of holding.

- Niniel doesn't find anything useful in the other rooms, but she leaves a note in the emptied safe that says, "If you come after my friends, I'll ruin the rest of your books."

- Caleb slightly adjusts the trap inside the safe so it works differently and then closes the safe back up.

- Niniel also checks behind the counter and she finds a silver-skull (Orcish?) the size of a coin. She yoinks it.

- Caleb and Niniel catch up with the others who are just about to board a carriage.

- Caleb confirms with the coach driver that the area is safe enough that Caleb needn't ride shotgun.

- Caleb hands the book to Soliana who doesn't sense any magic in the book, so she opens it. It is written in Dwarven. She holds Grim with one hand and asks him for help, and casts Comprehend Languages through her bond with the book. She can now read Dwarven.

- Soliana goes back to reading it. It is a spell book. It will take her a little while to figure out the spells.

- A few hours later, the carriage comes to a stop in the town of Lamara and the driver opens the door. 

- The village looks the way Soliana remembers it from 54 years ago when she left, and she remember the way to walk to her house.

- They walk the half hour from Lamara to the Ashera estate, and Soliana talks the most in that half hour that her friends have ever heard her says. She's almost chipper.

- And then they come to the gate and turn to look through it, they can see the dilapidated, once-beautiful manor house. Parts of the roof are missing, most of the carved wooden trim is missing and any stone carving trim is so dirty and covered in mold and grime that they are no longer visible. 

- They enter and see that the front parlor right off the entry way has some chairs and a little bed set up in there where it's clearly being lived in.

- Ms Emmyth greets them at the door and Soliana finally breaks down sobbing into her neck.

- When Soliana finally calms herself, Ms Emmyth and the group sit down over food and start making a plan.

- Soliana of course decides that she's going to re-organize the Library and sort out an Arcane Study as well. She'll also clean up her bedroom (cramped) and the kitchen (roomy).

- Zemma says she can organize the Smithy and Workshop (6 tools here). She'll also clean up a bedroom and the family parlor (roomy) to hang out in. She cleans out the cupboard under the stairs (cramped) and puts a cot in there, because, you know, kobold.

- Poetry is going to organize a Storehouse for the orchards and vineyards (vineyards installed by Ialantha) and a Garden for spell components (instead of herbs). She's going to grow herself a natural bedroom (cramped) in the orchard. She's also going to clean out the courtyard area and fix the plants there for an outdoor hang out space. 

- Caleb will organize more Smithy and Workshop (6 tools here) and he'll clean out another bedroom and the dining room. 

- Niniel disappears into an empty room somewhere and texts with her friend Gin. There's a magic tarp behind which Gin has discovered a magical space with a Garden (herbs), Storehouse, Kitchen, and Parlor. She just hangs a hammock in Ashera mansion somewhere until she eventually gets to go back home.
